ABOUT THIS TRACK:
This is the first completed Werebear song in over five years.
In early December 2021, wanting to get out of a prolonged musical funk, I challenged myself to write a Christmas song with the hopes of jump starting the writing process. I’ve had plenty of ideas in the last five years, but for whatever reason I haven’t put in the necessary effort to finish and release any new songs. I was hopeful this project would change that.
Thankfully, after some fits and starts, the experiment proved a success, resulting in one of the most ridiculous songs in the Werebear catalougue. The three minute track released today is titled “For Whom the Jingle Bell Tolls”. It’s a take on The Santa Clause, if Tim Allen subsequently cannibalized the Santa that fell off of his roof. You know, typical Christmas fare, Vince Guaraldi shit. It was incredibly fun to write (especially that “guts in my guts line) and super challenging to record. I really hope you like it!
Special thanks go out to children’s book illustrator Lee Gatlin for the artwork and audio engineer Steven Ordiano with Studio Six Audio for mixing and mastering the track. Both worked under tight deadlines and came through with amazing results! They’re the best! I highly recommend you look them up at www.leegatlin.com and www.studiosixaudio.com.
Thanks as always to everyone who supports this band. It’s fun to be making music again for you to hear. Happy Holidays, and hopefully I’ll see you in 2022 with more new tracks!
With much love,
WEREBEAR

LYRICS:
On a Christmas night when the full moon rises,
Ol' Saint Nick got some big surprises.
Now the elves are gonna be speaking at his eulogy,
wailing that the jingle bells tolled for thee.
The Werebear killed Santa Claus.
Now on the 25th with your boughs of holly
Santa rides his sleigh but he ain't so jolly.
This won't be no holy night, Santa's gonna take a bite.
Merry Christmas to all and to all a goodnight!
The Werebear killed Santa Claus.
I killed Santa, Kris Kringle.
Got his guts in my guts, now my eyes twinkle.
Naughty or nice, it don't matter.
No lump of coal boy, I'm coming at ya.
Beware the 25th when the night is silent,
Ol' Santa Claws gonna spread some violence!
